Do I need Breast Implants to have fullness in my breasts after a breast lift?

This shows a patient who is 3 months post op from Breast Lift with Auto Augmentation and Tummy Tuck with Liposuction.

Are Breast Implants the only option for retaining volume and fullness after a breast lift? It depends on the patient's starting point.

For women who do not have any natural volume in their breasts, options to add volume such as breast implants or fat grafting are often necessary. However, for patient who present with volume in their breasts, there is a technique called a "Auto"-Augmentation that can often be used to preserve volume during the breast lift and use it to the patient's advantage, almost like a small breast implant. In this technique, lower breast tissue that is often discarded during a standard breast lift is moved higher into the breast, giving more fullness. While this cannot give as much flexibility in the size and shape, specifically the roundness of the upepr part of the breast that is classic with breast implants, it can leave many patients with a very beautiful, natural result.
